crowne plaza manila

crowne plaza manila is centrally located in ortigas business district and is directly connected to robinsons galleria mall. i had a chance to stay in this 4 star hotel for two nights and experience its service and amenities.

???????????????????????????????the reception and lobby area of the hotel. the receptionists are efficient and courteous.

elevators to the floors are found at the second level.

the hallway to the rooms.

my room was at the 11th floor.

the spacious room looks somewhat dated but looks well maintained.

got any ‘great’ ideas? jot it down at this notepad!

make the call! the room was a non-smoking room.

a 42” LED TV, with lots of channels.

the mini-bar with complimentary bottled mineral water and some coffee sachets and tea bags.

lock your valuable away here!

wooden hangers in the closet and a ‘not fluffy’ bath robe.

if you want to have your shoes polished follow a very simple instruction.

yes i’m obsessed with fire exits and extinguisher locations. its one of the things that i need to know when i stay in a hotel.

key card slot.

the bathroom was also spacious. There is a separate shower glass stall.

toiletries with citrus and jasmine fragrance.

the bath tub which i did not use. lol.

here’s the view from the window.

buffet breakfast is served at seven corners.

this restaurant also has lunch and dinner buffet. i have tried their dinner buffet before and it was quite satisfying.

seven corners is located at the second level near the escalators.

i had my complimentary breakfasts here. they offer wide choices of dishes that i considered it as my brunch. sometimes i get too shy to take pictures of my food – but hey, it’s my plate! (on my plate: barbecue chicken, buttered broccoli and carrots, salted egg and tomatoes and fried rice).

on both mornings, i went there at 9:00 AM so to avoid the crowd of guests.

agenda is the hotel cafe and bakery on the same floor of the restaurant.

i bought some donuts and bread here to take home for my ma. i loved the taste of their vanilla bavarian!

that is me waiting and hiding behind those leaves as my room was being checked during check out for i might have taken a pillow! hehe!

spacious, well-maintained room, breakfast buffet that will let you forget about lunch and a place fully central. crowne plaza manila is a must-try hotel. you might enjoy your stay as i did. 🙂

in tune at tune hotel

it  wasn’t a first for me to stay on one of tune hotel‘s establishments.  i have stayed in their branch in cebu (philippines), in penang (malaysia) and bali, (indonesia).

2

their branch in ortigas was new and i was about to attend some refresher courses in a training center which was a 10-minute walk from the hotel.  i decided then to stay for four days.  i booked online and it only cost me P4500.00 (including add-ons), which was about a hundred dollars.  with tunes they have this “pay-as-you-use of add-ons” concept – say you pay for the toiletries, for 12 or 24 hours air-conditioning, TV and internet access.

4

my brother dropped me off at the hotel too early for check-in time was strictly 2:00 pm.  i had to wait for two hours and was accommodated at 1:30 pm.  the hotel lobby was quite comfortable and there were desktop computers with internet available for use.

5

6

the hotel has 12 floors and the room i got assigned to was at the 11th floor, 1122.  a keycard to get access to the floors is needed which is a good safety feature.

7

8

it’s been a habit of mine to check the fire escape plan of the hotel i’m staying.

9

10

they promise 5-star beds and in fact theirs are comparable with the other hotels i stayed.  internet connection works very good, a stub is given with the password upon check-in.

11

there are no cabinets in the room for your stuff but there’s this stainless steel brace in the corner that you can hang clothes on, clear plastic hangers included.

12

13

toilet and shower area was clean and looks very new.

14

15

towels and toiletries (a tube of shampoo and bar of soap) are add-ons that you have to buy separately during online booking.

my stay at tune hotel ortigas was fine and i never met any problems.  it is highly recommended if you want a very budget friendly, no-frills accommodation.

the exchange regency

there was this residence hotel that i stayed in for a night when i had my days off in manila last july.  it is situated in ortigas complex and the place itself was new.

Experience the modern comforts of home amid hotel convenience, only at The Exchange Regency Residence Hotel. Located at the heart of Ortigas Center, where shops, sights and sundry are just around the corner, we’ll provide you with warm and personalized service and a host of amenities that’ll truly make us the hotel you’ll call home.

Managed by Hospitality International, The Exchange Regency Residence Hotel is a 42-storey property developed by Nobleland Ventures that stands magnificently at the heart of the Ortigas Center skyline.

the lounge area looks simple with classic, contemporary furnitures.

i was given a room at the sixth floor.

tha hall way was typical for residential hotels.

the room i got was a deluxe with a queen-sized bed.

it has a work desk, a 32″ flat screen lcd tv and wireless internet.

a welcome note.

the clothes cabinet has a security box available inside.  laundry and pressing services is also availble with a fee.

the toilet and lavatory.  toiletries from crabtree and evelyn.

the shower area.

after a relaxing sleep i had my complimentary breakfast the next day at benassi. at the ground floor of the establishment.

the breakfast was basic (set menu), and i chose toast with spreads (butter and jelly) and scrambled eggs.

the coffee was great – something that i can recommend.

it was raining hard outside as i checked the swimming pool of the hotel at the third floor.

on the same floor is the fitness center with complete facilities.

the rate for a deluxe room is mid-range and i find it quite high if i compare it to other condotels in ortigas that i have been to.

exchange regency residence hotel . . the modern traveler’s choice.
