10 things i have not done before

2011 was a year of self-fulfillment for me.  what started as a dare of travelling alone in another country has let me prove to myself that it can be satisfying doing a solo travel.  it is in fact a way to let you see the things around you in a wide-angled way, for what i fear before taught me to find a direction to overcome.  it was also a year that i spent better quality time with my loved ones when i am home.  there were no drama, my life was more carefree as a single person.

to start the year, here is my list of 10 things i have not done before.  these might not all get completed by next year as i did the last time (i missed three, but putting them again here!), but i do find it amusing to do such list that i look forward when i am about to be scheduled for a short vacation from work.  it gives me that adrenaline-pumping feeling that i have to accomplish something.  so.. here i my list for 2012! 😀

1.  visit indonesia (done), vietnam (done), singapore and india (done):  i am very specific this time on my travel destinations.  i want it this way so i’ll have more focus on planning to get there (i hope that i do! haha.).

2.  blog a day at work:  let everyone see how a boring workplace can be stressful!

3.  eat crispy pata:  believe me, i have never tasted this ever in my life.  i stopped eating pork almost 20 years ago – it won’t actually hurt me to eat some, for i’ve actually eaten a cricket!

4.  spend an out of town weekend with my high school best friend:  i have to force him to do this with me.  he is a workaholic, i think he has forgotten that there is word spelled as u-n-w-i-n-d!

5.  ride on a train:  i don’t mean the metro rail or a subway – it’s the choo choo train.

6.  have my blog domain:  always wanted to get one but i always change my mind.

7.  date my mom:  my ma and i always go out when i am home but i want this one to be special.

8.  sport a mohawk:  this became difficult to do last year.  i just wanted that beckham- style (ahem!) mohawk but i suddenly started to have thinning hair!  this can be a problem, tsk!

9. photograph a tarsier:  for the third time i am going to book a flight ticket to bohol to see this creature.

10. attend a yoga class:  the vouchers i purchased got expired last year.   i still want to try yoga and.. kama sutra?!

so that is my list.  last year, pm of prinsesa’s anatomy joined me on this meme.  she did had fun and she’s doing it again this year.  hope you join us too! 😀

  1. ako din parang gusto ko gumawa ng list. kaya lang my personality is not into doing lists! haha! ang gulo ano?

pag nagpa-mohawk ka picture ha! 😉

  2. great list! i think dating your ma is the best. make it a big one! where do you find a choo choo train? me wants to ride too! i can’t believe you have not eaten crispy pata. such a short life to waste! go go go! i wish i can have the same out of town travels. have you read eat, pray, love? she went to india and indonesia too. in the book it sounded like indonesia is a lot like PH. about the beckham hair, just do it. it grows back anyway. i was scared of getting side bangs last year but i did it and i did not die. me wants to go to bohol too and i think i will because my friend is dedicated to go before july. and if only we live near each other nakapag yoga class na tayo! oh my, this is so exciting! good luck to us! 😀

    • .. thanks. i actually want to surprise my ma about that date, i won’t be home on her 62nd birthday this january so i’ll make it up by march or april. i still need to find the choo choo train and i’ll make sure to hunt down the best crispy pata in manila!

.. i have never read that book eat, pray, love (though someone gave the book to me as a gift and wrote – “to my felipe” but i gave the book away because i never ended up as her “felipe” and what is the use of reading it, lol!).

.. yeah, good luck to us pm! 😀

      • if someone gave me a book and wrote anything about me like the character i won’t read it too because it would scare me 😆 london keeps on popping in my head about the train. maybe you can go there, it’s the olympics anyway. i’m sure your mom would love that date. i am actually excited for her!

  3. nainggit bigla sa india, pero taas kilay sa indonesia. hehe.

good luck on your list. lahat achievable (except bohol trip! haha) joke lang, sana matuloy na pls lang. 😀

    • .. sabi ko na nga ba magrereact sa indonesia, hehe. di ba this year din kayo mag-india? di pa naman sure yang akin! sana nga naman matuloy na yang bohol na yan!

  4. libre mo ako sa india! haha…

yeah, tama si PM. dating your mom and i suggest, abroad, is the best in this list. it’s high time that tita nenita will fly asian too! sama mo sya sa india, bili mo ng sandosenang saree!

or i can join you at the end of the year in your best crispy pata munch! gusto mo pa boneless, i absolutely know where to find. 😀

talagang nag volunteer, ano?!!! haha! happy new year, rob! thanks for everything.

    • .. tara! haha. nako doc, sana nga mapuntahan ko na yan this time. oi saan yang crispy pata na yan! end of the year november na naman yata ang uwi ko, di aabot ng christmas as usual.

  5. hello rob!

    sumali na din ako. 🙂

i love crispy pata, kaso hindi na pwede ang much, slight lang dapat. 🙂 gusto ko din pumunta ng bicol na nakatrain. your list is a lot tougher than mine.

    good luck much. 🙂

    • .. hi orange! thanks for dropping by! yay, good thing you did made your own list. okay yan something to look forward for the year, matuloy man or hindi.

.. i think the tough one on my list is visiting india, medyo mataas ang flight fare dun, i need to save some money para sa pamasahe.

.. good luck din on your list! 😀

  6. natawa ako sa crispy pata. my officemates love this food kaya ito ang nakaharap sa akin everytime na mag lunch out kami. india is on my list too. to date your mom is the best for me.

happy 2012! All the best for you this year! 🙂

    • .. paano naman ang cholesterol sa crispy pata lito, hehe. good luck for both of us in india for this year lito and my ma is ever-deserving for a special date lagi lang yun sa bahay e.

      .. happy new yaer too!

    • .. thanks ewok! it’s a good feeling pa rin once you finish one of your list, ako sa tanda ko na ito natuwa e, haha!

.. it was nice meeting you too! 🙂

  7. eat, pray, love = incredible india

i also have an almost similar list inspired by ate chyng’s. i messed up big time last year so i’ll give a really serious whack at it this year. hahaha.

    good luck sa atin bro!

  8. hi rob! reaction lang sa 3 and 6.

    3. masarap ang crispy pata! you’re missing out on something great! hahaha. i dunno if you drink pero perfect na companion yang crispy pata sa inuman. pampabata nga lang. Hehe.

    6. just buy a domain name. regular ka naman sa blog mo, so the domain name would be the icing on the blog cake. yun nga lang affected SEO mo and links if you’re into that.

happy new year man! hope you experience more exciting things this year!

    • .. sa tanda ko na ito di ko pa natikman yan, hehe. i drink moderately, sige i’ll eat that with a cold beer.

.. so just a domain name? honestly limited knowledge ko sa ganyan, haha. pero i’ll check on that, thanks for the suggestion. happy new year too cedric, god bless! 😀

      • may masarap na crispy pata malapit sa UST kung san kami umiinom dati, kaso nilipat na daw di ko na alam kung asan. recommend ko sana. hehe. if ever kailangan mong info about domain names, dami makakatulong sayo sa PTB or PTB bagets. good luck!

        • .. masarap nga siguro ang ice cold beer and crispy pata as pulutan ano? sige check ko dun about the domain names cedric, i’ll be getting one soon.
