i just responded to a vehicular accident yesterday which occurred a few kilometers from the rig. there was not enough information about the situation and the status of the persons involved in the accident so i expected the worst, but prayed god that it won’t be that bad. after less than an hour of travel in the skid road, me and my saudi driver made it at the scene – thanking the lord as i saw the driver and his passenger were okay though they suffered some minor bruises and abrasions.
we found out that they were side swiped by an incoming vehicle, the impact causing their vehicle to roll over. it was out of the drivers’ poor visibility of the road due to a dust cloud that formed. i also checked the passengers of the other vehicle that included some children and good thing no one was hurt.
i know it’s quite gross blogging about it but . . .
a pakistani patient of mine just puked about two plates of biryani (a rice meal cooked in spices, veggies and meat) on the rig clinic’s floor – guess he ate too much of it while welcoming 2010. lol.
well, happy new year!
i lasted for another year in the company i am working for. this year has been quite rough, considering the recession that seems to be just lurking around and affects everyone. i have seen my co-workers lose their jobs and sent back home – never a happy scene. the latest, were rumors that the management are slashing about 150 rig personnel at the start of the next year. people ask me if it was true, asking me if a memo has been e-mailed from base camp or a letter from the rig mail was received. if i knew, i would not even dare to talk about for it just distresses me.
