7 things i have already done before

nearly a year ago, i have posted a meme entitled 10 things i have not done before.  one of my fave blogger, pm who joined me on this has updated her list today, so i’m hurriedly posting this entry for i almost forgot that we agreed to do this after christmas!  i was not able to do all the 10 things in my list (fail! haha!) for i lacked time (please do consider for i’m most of the time at work in the middle of the sea!).  so here is my results:

1. lone backpacking: i went to malaysia, thailand and hongkong  (posts to follow for hk!) – alone and loved it!

2. eat an insect delicacy:  ate a mole cricket – i can’t put into words the taste till now.

3. drink camel milk:  pasteurized, flavored and bottled!  can’t find a mama camel willing to feed me, hehe.

4. set up a blog contest:  pm won this contest for she had no one to compete with, haha!

5. sport a mohawk:  failed!  i started losing hair this year i did not wanna do this!

6. do horse back riding:  i did this in kuala lumpur but was not documented.  hope to do this again.

7. attend a yoga class:  failed!  i bought a voucher for yoga class but really did not have the time.

8. spend a night in a historic hotel:  had a one night stay at manila hotel.

9. photograph a tarsier:  failed!  for the second time, cancelled a trip to tagbilaran.

10. take a ride on a roller coaster:  screamed and shrieked like a bitch i thought i was about to have a cardiac arrest!

pm and i will post another ten things i have not done before list this coming year (will have to include my “failed” ones!).  i hope some interested bloggers will join us too.

merry christmas to everyone.  mwah, mwah!  😀

unboxing my iphone 4s

the iphone 4s was officially released here in ksa on december 16.  a known local bookstore was already selling it last november when i was inquiring about an iphone 4 before i went for days off, the filipino sales rep told me the iphone 4 was out of stock and what they have is a 4s 64gb which was being sold for 5,000.00++ saudi riyals.  i thought that was crazy getting a phone that costly.  half-decided, i bought an ipad2 (which i later found out that it is not blogger-friendly – or should i say i lack the knowledge of utilizing it for blogging?).

i have always wanted to own an iphone since 2008 but it was too expensive for me (see my post, rip-off and must-have later).  i have used my se p1i since 2008, and though i’m not really into mobile phones and the p1i is indestructible (fell from shangri-la mall escalator it was still alive when it hit the ground. haha!) i have decided that it was the right time for me to upgrade my phone.  now as included in my gadget wishlist for the year, i got my first iphone.

but then the crucial part for me is to learn how to use this thing, hehe. 😀

millenia suites

i have wanted to try the affordable hotels within the area of ortigas which is near the malls and heard about goldland millenia suites. i was confused at first of their location and when i read that it was just near a university, i have recalled its location and i knew it was just a walking distance from sm megamall.

Goldland Millenia Suites is a first class hotel residences managed by Crown Regency Hotels and Resorts. Located in the heart of Ortigas Center in Pasig City, this 36-storey mixed-use complex offers accommodation for business or leisure travelers in search of privacy, comfort, convenience and eminent level of personalized service. Select from 178 spacious deluxe and suites rooms – the perfect retreat after a day of work or leisure from shopping and sightseeing in the city.

i have reserved a room through their website and when i arrived at the hotel, everything seemed to be ready when i checked in.

the room i got was at the 18th floor but my keycard wasn’t working, i had to go down again to the ground floor to get it changed.

when i saw the inside of the room, it was actually spacious and it really did not gave me that hotel feel but rather it was like staying in a condominium unit. the bedside table was actually missing its drawer but i really did not mind.

kitchen facilities where one can actually cook if they wish to.

the toilet is quite small with a shower stall but complete toiletries were available.

view from the room.

i had a simple breakfast at cafe millenia with a few choices from their small buffet though the staff was cheerful and attentive. i can’t say that my stay at millenia suites was that first-class, it was actually just an average one.
